1)Today we will explore one more urgent tool for language learning and self-education in general, that is mobile applications. A mobile phone is something that you definitely bring with you everywhere. So it is a perfect instrument for your self-education and self-development.
By analogy with CALL (which is computer assisted language learning) there is a term connected with the usage of mobile technologies for language learning - MALL (mobile assisted language learning). After rather detailed studing of this issue I`ve formulated the main principles of MALL:
  • Focus on not the device but the mobility of the learner. 
  • Focus on the notion of context.
  • The ability to learn across different social contexts.
  • The ability to learn across different locations.
  • The ability to employ different technologies.
  • Focus on the notion of seamless learning.

2) Moreover, our cell phones can boost of one more interesting thing that is QR-code. I suppose you might think how we can use it during our educational process. It was also a discovery for me but we can easily employ QR-code for different purposes: as an addition to the text, an addition to the school or university subject, for schedule etc. Everything you need is your smartphone and a special app (which is free), but your students will certainly get interested in such an innovation in your lessons. I personally use QR-codes at least for the URL entry. It saves my time which I can spend on learning something new.

3) You know that there are thousands of mobile apps for education and it is impossible to explore all of them, but I have just done it with one of them in practice. The app that I`ve examined is called Quizlet. You can use it through your browser or download a mobile app from PlayMarket for free. Why has it caught my eye? Just because it is colourful, convenient and logically organised. Everything you will see with your own eyes if you follow the link, where I`ve created my own cards for learning.

Hello, dear students! I think, it is high time to discuss google services for educational purposes. I am sure, everybody has already worked with some of them, but I hope you will find something new from this post. Let`s start with Google Docs and Google Sheets. They are an ideal tool for group work on text and mistakes correction.  These services allow users to follow any changes added to the collective document, make notes and use chat.  Next is Google Slides . Hello, guys! Today we continue to observe numerous opportunities of the Internet and technologies for education and language learning in particular. It seems that the Intenet will never stop surprising me! In this post I`d like to get you acquainted with MOOC which is  a   massive open online course. First of all, let`s refer to the dictionary to find out the definition of this new term.  A  massive open online course  is an  online course  aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the  web .  MOOCs are a recent and widely researched development in  distance education  which were first introduced in 2006 and emerged as a popular mode of learning in 2012. Such a course has the following characteristics: it is open, participatory, distributed and provides life-long network learning. Hello everybody! Every day we deal with a lot of information in the Web, but many people just use a certain amount of resources much more often than others. So in order not to log in such websites every time there was created a special service called bookmarks .  But I am sure everyone has already worked with it. As in previous posts I have examined several resorces that allow users to create quick and useful bookmarks. All of them turned out to be rather simple, convenient, and, what is important, free. So I will just show you my personal bookmarks created in one of such a resource ( https://webstartpage.ru/ ). This resource attracted me by its logical structure and convenience. However, its design is rather plain, but, honestly speaking, it doesn`t matter, so if you`d like something more colourful choose some other resource. Good luck!
